The JUCC organized an offsite workshop in Kyoto, Japan, from 11 to 15 September 2023, and attended the APNIC 56 conference. A total of 20 JUCC members from 13 member institutions and representatives from the JUCC Office participated in the trip.

 

The APNIC 56 conference provided valuable insights and networking opportunities for the participants. It covered a wide range of topics related to internet operations, technology, and policy development. Participants had the chance to learn about the latest trends and developments in networking technologies, with topics such as Starlink, Cyber Public Health, RPKI, and IPv6 deployment being particularly noteworthy. Sessions on routing security and the future of the internet also generated significant interest.

 

The conference served as a platform for networking and collaboration among professionals from different backgrounds and institutions. Participants had the opportunity to establish connections with peers and engage in meaningful conversations. Keynote speeches by Jun Murai and Yosuke Kaneko discussed the future of the internet, including its potential expansion to space and the development of a lunar internet.

 

Participants also appreciated the sharing sessions hosted by JUCC, where they had the chance to share their experiences and initiatives. Overall, the APNIC 56 conference was seen as a catalyst for innovative thinking and collaboration, shaping the future of internet operations and technology.
